The Secret Diary of a Mom to be

Dir. Luk Yee-sum
Hong Kong 2019, 94’
Subtitles: Polish & English

As an old saying goes, ''Children are a gift from God''. Having a child is supposed to be marvellous for many women. But for Carmen, the career-minded, fun-loving young woman, it is the worst kind of nightmare. She thinks that babies are no different from viruses - once they start growing in your body, they bring misery into your life. After all these years, the unpleasant childhood memories of being rejected and abandoned by  her  mother still haunt her. She just doesn't want to see history repeating itself.

Carmen is now a star in the making of a renowned PR agency specialise in sports events and is expecting to be promoted to head of department in the Vietnam headquarters soon. She has  a  loving husband Oscar  and  a  friendly mother-in-law Margaret. Everything seems to be perfect. Her perfect life is ruined when she wakes up hungover after a crazy night out and learns that she is already three months pregnant.
