As his investments in the stock market fail, a man finds himself in serious debt to a lecherous loan-shark named Uchiyama. The man's wife hires herself to Uchiyama to buy time for the husband to pay off the debt. After Uchiyama uses the wife to provide companionship for his mentally-impaired son, she is hit by a car, and her husband falls into despair and illness. Their daughter works as a nightclub dancer, intending to save the money to help with the debt. After her father's suicide, the girl decides to get revenge.
Mukai Kan
Born in Manchuria on 16 October 1937, Mukai Kan was one of the early trailblazers in the field of pinku eiga alongside his contemporaries Wakamatsu Kōji and Watanabe Mamoru. He began his career in public relations films and education documentaries, making his debut with Two Boys (Futari no shōnen, 1962). His first pink film, an omnibus of three sexually-themed stories entitled Naked Flesh (Niku, 1965), was distributed overseas in a number of countries, including Britain and Germany. Mukai has almost 150 directing credits to his name and many more as a producer. In 1979, he founded the company Shishi Production, which made films for Nikkatsu, Shintoho and ENK among others and provided a vital training ground for several directors who have gone on to more mainstream success, including Takita Yojirō, Zeze Takahisa and Satô Hisayasu. He moved into directing straight-to-video movies in the 1990s, then onto more personal projects including Going West (Nishi e, 1997), marketed as “Japan’s first granny road movie”, Hometown (Furosato, 1999), Last Dance (2001) and School Reunion (Dōsōkai, 2004). He passed away on 9 June 2008, aged 70.
